CESINE
RECEIVES STUDENTS FROM OTHER REGIONS AND COUNTRIES

| In
recent years Cesine has undergone an important
process of internationalisation with its presence
at university fairs at the highest level in the
Spanish Autonomous Communities and in countries
such as Colombia, Mexico or Norway. This has
resulted in Cesine having some 20% of its students
coming from outside Cantabria and 10% of these
from abroad |
|
|
Personalised
treatment, broad professional openings through the Cesine
undergraduate programmes, living and sharing with foreign
students and knowing other cultures, guaranteed access to
company training, the professor-student relationship and
the fact that the scholarships cover 100% of the registration
fee, are clear arguments that Cesine students from afar state
when they describe their experience at the Cesine University
Centre.
Higher Education
has no borders and Cesine has been no exception to this rule
for years. The increase in the programmes has led to greater
numbers of students from afar deciding on coming to Santander
to study at the Centre. The current figure is 10% from outside
Cantabria and a further 10% from abroad.

Young people
find several advantages for deciding on Cesine. Daniel Mann
Ramón, from Germany and in his 3rd year of Industrial
Design claims he chose Cesine because his older brother had
graduated from here and had very good things to say about Cesine.
Besides, in Germany the public universities are very saturated
so he decided on a university centre that offered classes “in
reduced class size, where the quality of the teaching would
obviously be higher”.
Atilano Marcos
Núñez from Venezuela agrees and has been one
of the first students to choose the Advertising Programme.
He was also looking for a centre where “the education
was more personal than in the public university and of higher
quality”. He was given favourable references about Cesine
from a friend who is going to start studying Business Administration.
Students
also value the formation experiences at Cesine of those people
close to them. It is very frequent that the students themselves
or ex-students encourage people they are in contact with to
go study at Cesine. This is the case of Carmen García
Díez, who thanks to the good references she was given
decided to transfer from Oviedo to Santander in order to enter
Advertising. Having started her studies she sets her expectations
as “finish her degree in the 4 years allotted and to
find a job that is closely related to the field that I have
studied”.
The fact that Cesine is associated to the University of Wales
has been one of the main reasons why Ricardo Herrero Ganzo, from
Valladolid, decided on Cesine to study BA. “Some of my
mates told me about a centre in Santander that is associated
with the University of Wales that is renowned and so I checked
on Internet”, Ricardo declares. Among his expectations
are that of being able to finish his studies with a master, that
will help him “to acquire the sufficient knowledge in order
to work independently or to continue in the family business”,
he points out.
COMPLETE
INSTALLATIONS
One of Cesine
strong points in that it knows how to appreciate its students
through its excellent installations. Many times it is enough
when young people visit the centre for them to decide on enrolling
at Cesine. This is what happened to Beatriz Cuesta Salazar,
who came from Miranda de Ebro to study in ITE in Santander.
As Beatriz herself tells us “in my second year at high
school someone from Cesine came and talked about the centre,
so I decided to come see it and I liked it so much I decided
to study here”.
After having
spent three years here she claims she is satisfied with the
education she has received since “ I consider that I
will be better trained than in other universities when entering
the job market”.
In other
cases it is the very specialised offer that makes young people
decide on Cesine. Industrial Design and Multimedia is generating
a lot of interest among students. Francisco de Borja Prendes,
from Oviedo, knew about Cesine from the Oviedo Fair. He is
currently in his first year and in the future he would like
to “work as a computer game designer or car designer”.
Ana Cristina Poza Fernández, from Palencia, admits that
in the beginning she did not know much about this programme
but she got interested in it when she saw an advertisement.
She is now in her third year.
"The
smaller the group size the greater the quality teaching"
