A group of Double Degree students (Bachelor + Master) has recently enjoyed an international scholarship period in China, in order to learn about the business opportunities offered by the Asian giant with executives from major companies.
And that is because CESINE international degrees have a global and interdisciplinary approach and they combine academic and professional experiences in Asia and the USA.
CESINE students learn about business management in Asia and its differences with respect to the West
In this way, they have developed a complete international program with visits to the Asian headquarters of textile industry companies such as Tempe (Inditex Group), Parfois, the factories of Gz Foison (with clients like Zara, Levis or H&M) and Paparazzi, and also Huawei’s R&D Center, among other facilities.
Marina Guevara and Beatriz Bermúdez study the Double Degree Bachelor Honours in Fashion Design + Master in Luxury Brand Management and Fashion Communication at CESINE, and both think that they have acquire “a very valuable experience for our professional future”.
“I have obtained a great capacity for working in a very different culture, something that can help me to create, in the years to come, a brand with its production located in China”, says Marina Guevara.
“For us it is very important to observe first hand how the production development and the quality control is managed in major textile companies”, notes Beatriz Bermúdez.
During their stay, students have visited the headquarters of Parfois in Asia, learning about its production processes.
These students have learned more about the international import-export process thanks to a workshop held at the Economic and Commercial Office of the ICEX and the Spanish Consulate in Guangzhou, where they met with the consul Marcos Gómez Martínez.
An event highlighted by Marina Allés, who studies the Double Degree Bachelor Honours in International Business Management + Master in Business Management: “It is a very enhancing experience and it give us a different perspective when it comes to carrying out international dealings. Besides, thanks to the visit to the ICEX we’ve been able to learn about how Spanish companies are facing import-export operations and the barriers that they found”.
During the stay in China they have put into practice their knowledge with a group dynamics to work at the Chinese Import and Export Fair (Fair of Canton): a complete first-rate exhibition with over 60.000 stands and 25.000 companies.
They have learned about the import-export process at the ICEX Economic and Commerce Office in Guangzhou.
Maitane del río, who also studies the Double Degree Bachelor Honours in International Business Management + Master in Business Management, claims she would love to “work overseas”, so she considers that learning about other markets provides new and interesting “points of view”.
The program has also included cultural visits to enjoy all the possibilities that a city like Guangzhou offers, being the third most important city in China and biggest metropolitan area in the World, with over 46 million people.
The students have also learned about the production process visiting the factories.
